Well the interesting thing about the AIY Projects kit is that the you can use the Python SDK to do whatever you need it to do, so if you need it to make calls you can integrate it with Google Voice using the pygooglevoice library, https://pypi.python.org/pypi/pygooglevoice/0.5. So the Google Assistant on the AIY kit can’t, but you’re calling the Google Assistant from Python, and your Python can, so sure. You can use the AIY Voice Kit to do exactly what you need to do with only moderate amounts of code.
